Saluda County is located in the western midlands of South Carolina. The county is about 40 miles west of Columbia and 40 miles northeast of Augusta, Georgia. Primary industries include poultry processing and farming. Major agricultural products include peaches, livestock, soybeans, and timber.
Interstate Highways I-20 and I-26 are approximately 25 miles from downtown Saluda. The Columbia Metropolitan Airport is within an hour’s drive. The Saluda County Airport with a 3200 foot runway is six miles from Saluda. Rail access is available in Ridge Spring. Port facilities are located 145 miles away in Charleston, SC.
Lake Murray, a 50,000 acre man made lake, and Persimmon Hill Golf Club are popular destinations. Tourists can also visit the Historic Saluda Theater and Museum as well as other historical sites through-out the county. Ridge Spring offers visitors a variety of activities from roadside stands and antique shops to fine dining and shopping.
